Lane Young

Lane Young has worked hard over the past few years honing his craft.
Lane has really got rudiments & reading down these past couple years. He has developed a distinct playing style ranging from rock & funk to latin & jazz .
He has been in jazz band since middle school @ Holicong right through Central Bucks East High School where he is in his senior year. Lane also plays in many other ensembles including concert band and small jazz combos at East. He often plays for school vocal groups and theatrical productions some of which are produced, taught and/or directed by his mother Cynthia Young, Choral Director at CB South. Lane is a vocalist as well, singing in several ensembles and also plays keyboards.
He has already composed several songs in his home studio.
Lane attended the summer music programs at Penn State University and Berklee School of Music in Boston in 2006 and 2007 respectively and has won numerous awards and honors in both vocal and drum set performance.
Lane will be attending Berklee School of Music in Boston, MA. in the fall where he will major in
contemporary music writing, production and drum set performance and he was awarded the highest songwriting scholarship totaling $16K over 4 years.
It is a genuine pleasure working with such a talented student.

"To Teach is to learn again" Teaching privately in Central Jersey and the Bucks/Mont areas of Pennsylvania, Dave presents a rudimental approach to the instrument. For beginning to intermediate players the emphasis is on rudiments, stick control, independence and reading. Various grooves and drum set exercises are introduced as the student progresses. For the advanced or professional, lessons are tailored to the particular needs and desires of the student. Much of the teaching methodology has been personally developed over the years. With 30+ years experience in the field, Dave has taught in various schools in the tri-state area, some of which include Bucks County Community College, CB East, The Community Conservatory, Doylestown School of music, Music Forte & Acoustic Pickins. Dave has also taught and played at conferences and clinics locally, in State College, St Louis, Rochester, NY and Nashville, TN.
Many students are in their respective school concert and/or jazz bands including Pennsbury, Central Bucks and Penn Ridge in PA and South Hunterdon, Delaware Valley Regional and Hunterdon Central in NJ. Students have been accepted at, attended or will be attending Hartt School of Music in Hartford, Conn., Berklee School of Music in Boston, Mass., NYU in NYC, University of the Arts in Philly, Westchester U in Westchester,PA and Rowan & William Patterson in NJ... Dave devotes most of his teaching time to a schedule of around 25 students weekly and offers private instruction in your home. To inquire about charges & openings:
